Does Universal Orlando Do Anything For Halloween?

Yes, Universal Orlando has Halloween Horror Nights. At HHN there are haunted houses, scare zones, live shows, attractions, rides, themed drinks and food, and merchandise.

These can be experienced by buying a separately ticketed event for Universal Studios Florida.

Halloween HHN Orlando

In 2014, we experienced Halloween Horror Nights in Hollywood and Orlando. A mother and daughter experience we still remember doing together.

At Orlando, I thought the Mike Myers House, Halloween, was the scariest of all the houses. Even if I consider the houses in Hollywood. But then, there were the clowns chasing us with their chainsaws.

At HHN in Orlando, we had tickets during the day for both parks. And, we had purchased the separate tickets for the HHN event and paid extra for the fast pass for HHN.

So, we were allowed to stay within the park in the Harry Potter area when the park closed. Most of the area was closed, except for the food and drink stand. So, check what changes have happened since.

Then, as HHN opened. We started the houses from the back of the park.  And, we moved towards the front and opposite the crowds.

I  think it was when we arrived at the third and fourth houses, That, we were caught up in the long queues waiting to get inside. Even, the fast pass queues were long.

By the end of the day, my feet were so sore. As we had walked all day and night, sixteen hours in the parks, plus the day before. So, I could hardly walk.

Fortunately, we had a boat ride back to the hotel at the Hard Rock Hotel in Orlando.

The Weather

We went in the last week of October during the week. And, the weather was warm, not humid, and perfect conditions for being at the theme parks.

HHN 2023

In 2023, Wednesday to Sunday nights are available in September and October plus Halloween 31 October in Orlando. Read the policies and restrictions, and nights can be canceled without notice.

Check for hurricane season weather and cancellation policy. And, look at the rainy season.

Park to Park Tickets to Universal Studios Orlando

The reason we visited Orlando was for The Wizarding World of Harry Potter at Universal Studios Florida and Universal's Islands of Adventure.

And, we purchased park-to-park tickets so that we could catch the Harry Potter train between the two parks. On the first day, we caught the train from Universal Studios to Islands of Adventure. And, on the second day, we traveled vice versa.

We had planned it so that on the second day we had the separately ticketed event tickets for HHN. So that was the park we would end up in before closing time.

You can pick between a two or three park park-to-park ticket valid for one to five days.

The parks are Universal Studios Florida, Universal's Islands of Adventure, and Universal's Volcano Bay ( 3-Park Ticket only).

The Scare Zones 2014

The Bayou of Blood was one of the scare zones and street experiences. And, the others were Face Off in the Flesh, Maskerade Unstitched, and The Purge. Each year the theme changes.

We experienced the following houses

• From Dusk Till Dawn

• Giggles & Gore, Inc.

• The Walking Dead End of the Line

By doing the last three houses first we joined the bottleneck of the next three houses.

Live Entertainment, The Rocky Horror Show Tribute (2014)

This included time sitting down for a break. And we watched some of the Rocky Horror Show Tribute. We saw my favorite part, the Time Warp.

The Last Two Haunted Houses

For the last two houses which were the first two near the entrance, we faced no queue. And, we went straight through. By this time, it was about midnight when we arrived at the entrance to leave the park.

So, we managed to get through all the houses in one night. I also purchased the express pass and the HHN separately ticketed event tickets

Where to Stay near Universal in Orlando

The Universal Hotels are near Universal in Orlando and come with benefits that are nearly the same as why I picked Hard Rock Hotel back in 2014.

Our reason to visit the parks was for The Wizarding World of Harry Potter. And, I picked Hard Rock Hotel because it included one-hour early access, express unlimited to specific attractions. We needed to buy valid theme park tickets.

In addition, we bought park-to-park tickets for Islands of Adventure and Universal Studios. Back then, we accessed The Wizarding World of Harry Potter up to one hour early.

And, we caught the boat from the Hard Rock Hotel to and from the parks each day. I found it really helpful. Because on the second day after sixteen hours and standing in the long queues at HHN my feet were sore.

Benefits of Staying at Universal Hard Rock Hotel

The Hard Rock Hotel has a music theme to the hotel. And, the water fountain at the entrance has guitar shapes.

The main reason I chose to stay at the Hard Rock Hotel was

• Early park admission to The Wizarding World of Harry Potter. We went early on both days. I notice you'll need to look up the dates for attraction availability.
• Universal Express Unlimited to select attractions at Islands of Adventure and Universal Studios, valid theme park admission is needed. And, when we went it didn't include Harry Potter, but it does now.
• Complimentary transportation to the Theme Parks by Water Taxis. It also docks at Universal CityWalk, but we didn't end up going there. And, there are shuttle buses and walking paths.
• Delivery of our purchases in the parks to the hotel.
