Spring is the best season, from September to November. The four wildflowers I photographed below were during summer. So, different varieties can bloom in the other seasons too.

Which Walking Trails Are Best for Finding Wildflowers in the Dandenong Ranges?

I found the purple wildflowers (pictured below) at the R J Hamer Arboretum Lookout during summer, which has some trails. The lookout is pictured below and has very tall trees. You can park your car along the pictured trail on the other side of the barriers.

I found some walking and hiking trails in the Dandenong Ranges National Park where I can spot wildflowers and native Australian flora. The difficulty ranges from easy, moderate, and hard.

One of the easy trails is a walk in the Dandenong Ranges Botanic Garden. Even though it's an easy walk, it would be too challenging for me with mobility issues, so I could only walk a little.

As for me, it would be easier to catch the 'open-air electric people mover' to see the gardens and there is a fee.

For more details on trails, access to the trails site is charged.
